Melissa Lakey is an artist and illustrator based in Joshua Tree, California, where the windows of her art studio look out onto the Mojave Desert. Inspired by the desert where she lives and a childhood spent dreaming of becoming a cowboy, her colorful mixed-media paintings explore the magic of the American Southwest. 

Melissa has exhibited her paintings across the U.S. in both group and solo exhibitions, including the two-person show In the Realm of Dreams, presented alongside Artist Jen Zahigian, at our ArtHouse & Co. gallery.
