Steinberg Meets the Eameses
Known for his stylistically diverse drawings, murals, books, and sculptures, as well as countless contributions to The New Yorker, Saul Steinberg became one of the 20th century’s most iconic artists by continually prodding at the absurdities of life in the modern world. This new book, prepared in conjunction with the Eames Institute of Infinite Curiosity’s online exhibition of the same name, delves into the manifold connections between Steinberg and the designers Charles and Ray Eames, and details the flurry of creativity that emerged from a storied encounter in the summer of 1950.
